Last week we talked about how many billions of people there are in this world….that god has created more than 108 billion people since the beginning of time. Each one of us is unique and made on purpose for a purpose.
Remember, NO ONE can fill your place in this world…NO ONE!
You are the only YOU there will ever be. God made you unique, special…..one of a kind.
It is important that we become the best US we can be. Doing our best is more than enough.
Jesus is the good shepherd, He gave His life for the sheep and when we accept His love and come into His fold, we are ENOUGH!!!
John 10:10 is a VERY popular verse because it packs a punch. It reminds us Satan comes only to steal to kill and to destroy BUT Jesus came to give us life – abundant life – life to the fullest!
We need to remind ourselves of this verse over and over and over again.
Satan is on the attack – it’s a war!!!! He will do anything to steal, kill and destroy more and more and more from us!!!
He tries to steal our confidence by replacing it with guilt or insecurities.
He steals our laughter, our joy, our peace, our patience. Little by little he works to steal and destroy everything we are in Christ and most of the time it starts in our mind.
Our thinking profoundly influences every other aspect of our lives.
Our thinking is the one thing that we have complete control over! Not one area of our life is untouched by our thoughts!
Our thoughts can convince us that we are not enough…
not good enough,
not talented enough
not pretty enough
not smart enough
not important enough
not popular enough
not ___________ enough (you fill in the blank)
Don’t believe everything you think! Your mind can be a very convincing liar.
I absolutely love the movie “The Help”. There are so many good scenes and wise words spoken in that movie. For example, there’s the famous scene where Abilene, one of the nannies, picks up the sweet child and whispers gently to her:
“You is Kind. You is Smart. You is important.”
Don’t you wish sometimes that someone would speak those sweet, gently words to you? I know I do!
God longs to speak love, truth, and peace to our souls – we’ve just got to listen. He says, “Come to me ALL who are weary and burdened and I WILL give you REST.” (Matthew 11:28). Psalm 62:1 says, “My soul finds rest in God alone.”
I read a quote this week from a hero of mine, Jeanne Mayo. She is going through a difficult time and she writes:
“Loneliness becomes my friend when it forces me to draw companionship from the Living God that I would otherwise like to draw from a human being.”
SO if you’re feeling lonely, allow it to draw you to HIM!! Let Him sit you one His lap and speak peace & truth to your heart. Listen to what HE has to say to you.
And then there’s the scene in the “The Help” where Skeeter’s nannie finds her alone in the yard and she sits down, listens to her woes and tells her:
“Quit feeling sorry for yourself, now that’s ugly!! Ugly is all up
inside you – it’s mean and hurtful. You’re not like that, are you?”
“Everyday when you wake up in the morning you’ve gotta make some decisions – am I gonna believe all them things those fools say about me?”
Sometimes those fools saying mean and hurtful things are other people, sometimes it’s satan and sometimes the fool is ourselves.
We’ve got to take back our thoughts – think and believe the truth that God says about us!!!
Don’t forget that “You had a purpose before anyone had an opinion!!”
Take sometime this week to think about the area’s in your life that cause you to believe you’re “Not Enough” then go to The Word of God and find verses that speak truth and live into your “not enough’s”.
It will change the way you think and the way you live!!
When you live from a place that says; “I AM Enough” you are kinder and more loving to the people around you and to yourself.
Your family needs you to believe you are enough and this world needs you to believe you’re enough!!
You is kind, you is smart, you is important…..YOU IS HIS!!!!
Hugs to you brilliant, amazing, loving, kind……woman of God!
